This lasagna recipe is a little more involved than the previous one, but trust me, it's worth the extra effort. Here's what you'll need:

  • 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound hot breakfast sausage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 cups water
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1-1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 10 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
